What is going on with the Timber Lodge?

Updated: Dec 18, 2023

Many of you might be wondering what is going on and why the Timber Lodge wasn't open this last season. Let me start off by saying we wish we were open! This post is to give you a quick tour of what Adam and I have been up to over the last year and a half.

We bought the Timber Lodge in July 2022 from John and Cindy. They are wonderful people and had done such great job building up the Timber Lodge in the Colorado Springs community. We are sure they miss being with you all each summer. Here is where we are at the moment. We have spent the last year working on a refresh to the property. Many of the cabins were becoming unusable with the condition they were in. None of the cabins were ready for year round use. So that is where Adam and I come in.

We have been using the design expertise of The Senger Group out of Colorado Springs to bring these cute little cabins back to life with new vigor and energy. It has definitely taken much longer than we were hoping, but we are starting to see light at the end of the tunnel. We have a plan to have at least 12 of the units open by March! We are working through the city on a couple issues as we try to not only get the buildings up to date, but also all the systems working on the property. Thank you for your patience.

Our goal through this is to create an updated Timber Lodge with minimal effect on the overall feel of the space. It will feel rustic but updated. We also have plans to add some tiny cabins to the property as well, which is part of what we are working with the city on. They are going to be a fun minimalist addition to the property. We would love for you to come see them. As we get closer to opening we will be opening up the reservation system.

Previously the only way to book the Timber Lodge was by calling in and getting a reservation over the phone. We are moving to a web based system to allow 24/7 booking options. Each cabin/unit will individually be listed on our website and through third party platforms like Airbnb and VRBO. There will be options to rent out the whole or part of the facility for reunions or retreats. Also, as stated earlier we are getting the cabins ready for year round use. This includes adding insulation and heaters to the existing cabins, propane fire pits and hot tubs on site. We are so excited for this added usage and we think you will be as well! You are more than welcome to send us any questions you might have as we get ready for the upcoming year. Our system is not quite ready to take reservations. We will look to have that up and running by around mid-January. We have left our contact email below. Thank you.
